MRL TRACTION ELEVATORS

General
All elevators, whether traction or hydraulic, have required a machine space to house electric motors, hydraulic pumps and a controller cabinet. This space is normally located above the hoistway (or adjacent, for hydraulic elevators) and may contain machinery for a single or a group of elevators.
Machine room-less elevators are designed so that most of its components fit within the shaft containing the elevator car; and a small cabinet houses the elevator controller. Other than the machinery being in the hoistway, the equipment is similar to a normal traction elevator. This new design was first developed by Pakistan Elevator Engineers in Pakistan 2005.
